Dana Wilson grew up with a love for animals, catching frogs in her grandparents’ backyard and growing up with family cats, dogs, and horses. As a child, she wrapped pretend bandages on her stuffed animals.

After completing her Associate of Arts at Front Range Community College in Longmont, Colorado, she began to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. She started working as a Doggy Daycare Kennel Assistant at Gunbarrel Veterinary Clinic in Boulder, Colorado. Getting her foot into the door at a vet clinic was the first step.

After getting used to all sorts of different dog breeds and working with the animal behaviorist, Laurie Buffington of Dog Days Training Center, she graduated to become a Veterinary Receptionist and developed relationships with the owners of all the dogs she cared for.

In the time she worked as a receptionist, she worked closely with the veterinary technicians and veterinarians of Gunbarrel Veterinary Hospital and learned about all things medicine.

Dana then left to work at The Animal Hospital in Longmont, Colorado to become a Veterinary Technician Assistant, and then off to Lyons Veterinary Clinic in Lyons, Colorado to work as a Veterinary Technician. Here is when Dana picked up Celestial Pet Sitters and began to pet sit for the clients of the clinics she worked for.

Dana has volunteered at Longmont Humane Society in Longmont, Colorado, Marin Humane Society in Novato, California, The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California, and Creekside LLC, a horse boarding facility, in Berthoud, Colorado.

Dana has since moved to Buda, Texas where she now has three children with her husband, Sam. Dana loves keeping a close relationship with nearby veterinary clinics as well as pet sitting clients.
